Blackouts

HCA Inc. took the Dow over 180 points as it reached 11,051 for trading on Monday. I imagine this will be short lived, but it shows with a positive upbeat the Dow will jump forward. I think the Dow is under priced and has wonderful chance of breaking records this year, but the news of the world and energy drives the markets down. With the Dow the NASDAQ jumped 41 points and the S&P went up 20 points.

Several companies released profits and for a few it looked good. Netflix profits tripled, Kraft profits are up 44%, and the bad came to American Express as its profits fell 7 percent.

WTO talks collapse and with this will come the finger pointing what exactly happened is really unsure of at this time, but news will leak about as to why.

Many blackouts are happening around the USA and from this we are finding that a lot of electricity is being used so look for top utilities to start getting attention. Companies like Duke Energy, TXU Corp, Southern Co, Firstenergy, Exelon, and others to report some nice 3rd and 4th quarter gains.
